PIER PLUS Steering Committee and Hamburg Chamber of Commerce Exchange Views

In November 2024, the PIER PLUS Steering Committee met for the 11th time. Dr. Malte Heyne, Managing Director of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, was also a guest.

At the 11th PIER PLUS Steering Committee on November 28, 2024, Dr. Malte Heyne, Managing Director of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, was a guest to discuss and debate the Chamber of Commerce's perspectives on necessary future technologies in Hamburg together with the scientific community. The visible result of these discussions is a joint position paper (PDF, German) from PIER PLUS, the LHK Hamburg and the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, which the partners presented at a joint press conference (German) on December 19, 2024.

Particularly the core demand for a Hamburg Future Foundation ("Zukunftsstiftung") to promote innovation was subsequently widely reported in the local and regional media, and Chamber of Commerce President Prof. Dr. Norbert Aust also referred to it in detail in his annual end-of-year speech on 31 December 2024.
